Beauty portraits in the sun in Haggerston, East London

It's not often you meet a Miss England finalist, so it was a great pleasure to meet and photograph Connie on a baking hot June day in East London. Connie wanted some professional headshots and relaxed portraits for her portfolio, something summery, joyful and bright to represent her sunny personality. To be honest, it was hard to take a bad shot - Connie is a professional and was in her element in front of the camera.

We found some beautiful corners of Haggerston Park to try. An old stone wall covered in Virginia creeper, a bed of roses, and the modern development across the road that offered the vibrant yellow and orange backdrops you find further down. Connie would have looked amazing in front of a plain black wall, but I absolutely love finding vibrant colours and interesting textures to use as a backdrop to add that extra level of interest to the photographs.

I wish Connie the very best of luck in the competition and in her career. And I hope you enjoy this selection of the images that we took together...
