Rotterdam photoshoot with a graphic designer
What a fun morning to spend in Het Industriegebouw in Rotterdam with Hester. We each other through Creative Mornings after I gave a talk about how, often, creative people struggle to make themselves more visible. This struck a chord with Hester, who is a graphic designer and in the process of updating her website.
A relaxed Rotterdam photshoot
Hester already had some imagess from a previous Rotterdam photoshoot, but only used one. Although the photos were beautiful, she felt like she wasn’t as relaxed because the shoot required a big setup – lighting, lots of gear – which put her off a bit. Over the years, I’ve pared down my kit to just a camera and one lens, which gives me the freedom to focus on the person I’m working with (and keeps my backpack light enough to lug around!).
We had a pre-photoshoot planning session to plan the locations, outfits and photos Hester wanted to capture. The day of the photoshoot in Rotterdam was going smoothly until I realized I had shown up at the wrong building... A VERY sweaty bike ride later I made it to the right spot - luckily Hester was very understanding!
We took a wide range of photos, including Hester working in her office, and amongst the amazing architecture of the building. Hester is also a plant lover, like me, so I made sure to include them in some of the photos.
